Laminated maple vintage #2 wood by Wilson, circa 1962-1965. Standard white cyolac insert with black vertical stripe and 4-screw diamond pattern. Stainless steel sole plate shows Wilson logo, swing weight designation, Wilson name and 4300 model number, Barrow’s Golden Eye head is hand carved in basswood and painted in a decorative decoy style with taxidermy grade yellow glass eyes.
Note: 1965 was the last year Wilson manufactured wood clubs with insert screws. Adding to this piece’s collectability is the rarity of a #2 wood in the early ‘60’s.
